We opened in Burgess Hill on the 11th November 1976 and Keith Gale was placed in charge by the then owner John Duffy. In 1985 Keith became a partner as the business went from strength to strength and Duffy & Company became a force to be reckoned with within Mid Sussex. In 1991 Keith took over as sole owner of the Burgess Hill branch of Duffy & Company that he managed and built up since its opening.

Adrian Kirbyshire joined the team in 2006 and took over the business from Keith in 2020. Adrian brings vast knowledge of the local area and property prices using his experience to ensure smooth transactions occur for all our clients. Adrian’s has continued to grow business and has now ventured into the lettings market.

We believe we offer a personal, comprehensive and thorough service to all our clients in the sales and letting markets and through our affiliations can assist with any mortgage and conveyancing needs. Our friendly and prominent office is based in the high street of Burgess Hill and using the latest technology, along with our vast knowledge and experience provide a unique and first class service to all our customers, which our customer reviews will endorse.

Letting Fee Information

Holding deposit - Capped at 1 weeks rent

Security Deposit Capped at 5 weeks rent for annual rental under £50,000, or 6 weeks rent for annual rental over £50,000

Rent - The agreed monthly rent

Changes to tenancy - Capped at £50 inc VAT

Early termination charge - Not exceeding the landlord’s financial losses

Late payment of rent - Interest of 3% above BoE base rate for each day the rent is late, once it is 14 days overdue

Replacement keys - Reasonable costs or give the tenant the option to purchase themselves

Utilities, council tax, communication services, TV Licence etc - Tenants own responsibility unless otherwise stated in contract
